Shades of People

Student artwork portraits on the wall

In Katie Afman's kindergarten class they read Shades of People for Social Studies. They discussed shades of people because people come in lots of different shades (cocoa, tan, rose and almond), even in the same family.  Then the class found crayons that matched their skin color that were provided by the equity department in Issaquah. They talked about how each and everyone one of them are unique and special just they way they are!
