School-Wide Celebration Day!
Last Friday, March 24 was our school-wide celebration of behavior, which our students have been working all year towards. We ask that all Newcastle Elementary students conduct themselves in ways that are SAFE, KIND, and RESPONSIBLE. When students are recognized for this type of behavior, they receive a Lion Coin that they can turn in to their teacher. Each classroom collects these coins towards a classroom goal. Once enough classroom goals are met, we hold a school-wide celebration of behavior.
We kicked off our day with a Zoom dance party, and then had music jamming on the playground throughout the day. Students were provided bubble wands for recess and our older students had free seating at lunch. We had special games on the big field, and then wrapped up the day with presentation of the Kraken beanies to all students and staff which they wore for a final Zoom dance party to wrap it all up. Of course, we kicked that off by saying, “Let’s get crackin’!”
